Thank you!

Thank you!

THANK YOU to everyone that turned out for Senator Merkley's Town Hall on Tuesday. We had a tremendous showing from the Boosters – approximately 40 people came out to show their support for the Jordan Cove Energy Project (and another ten Boosters attended a County Land Use Hearing earlier that day). Only a few protestors turned out for the Town Hall, and despite some misleading newspaper reports, there were only a few more protesters at the Land Use Hearing.

We are ordering more Booster t-shirts in advance of Senator Wyden's Town Hall, which we expect to be held in Coos County in September or October. Senator Wyden's support is critical, as he is Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee with jurisdiction over the Department of Energy, the Federal agency responsible for granting the license that Jordan Cove needs in order to export LNG out of Coos County.

We look forward to seeing you at Senator Wyden's Town Hall – we will keep you posted on the exact date.

Calling all Boosters!

The U.S. Department of Energy has approved only three LNG export projects and has not indicated how many more projects it will consider. It is more important than ever for you to show your support for the Jordan Cove Energy Project.

There is an opportunity for you to do just that on Tuesday:

What:

Oregon's Senator Jeff Merkley holds town hall in Coos County.

When:

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

4:00 pm

Where:

North Bend Public Library

1800 Sherman Ave.

North Bend, OR 97459

Boost Southwest Oregon invites you to put on a green t-shirt and show Senator Merkley how much Coos County wants the Jordan Cove Energy Project.

DOE will be looking to Senator Merkley and the rest of the Congressional delegation to gauge their support for Jordan Cove – we want Senator Merkley to give DOE the thumbs up!

Look for Boosters outside the Library to pick up your own green Boost Southwest Oregon t-shirt.
